How to Send Money to Facility

Before sending anything, get the inmate's 7-digit Inmate ID number. You'll need it for every payment option. One thing to know: if the inmate owes fines, costs, or restitution, a percentage of your deposit may go toward those debts.

Note: Do not mail money (including cash, checks, or other items of monetary value) to VADOC facilities or headquarters. Those mailings will be rejected.

You have several ways to add funds. The fastest is an online payment through JPay using a credit or debit card. Prefer your phone? You can pay by calling JPay or use the JPay mobile app (Android or Apple iOS). For cash deposits, visit a MoneyGram agent location. Money orders go through a JPay lockbox and must include a deposit slip.

Money orders sent to the JPay lockbox aren't instant. Once JPay receives your money order, funds will be available to the inmate within three business days.
