Scheduling, Adding, and Canceling Visits (Using GDC’s Visit Request Tools)

Before you can schedule anything, you need to be approved as a visitor. GDC requires you to fill out the Visitation Request Form and submit it to the facility where your loved one is incarcerated. Haven't done that yet? Start there. Once you're approved, the scheduling and change tools on GDC's "Visit an Inmate" page let you request a visit, add people to an appointment, or cancel when plans change.

1. Open GDC’s “Visit an Inmate” page - This is where the official visitation request tools are listed.
2. Choose the option to request a scheduled visit - Use the request form linked there.
3. Submit your visit request through the GDC visitation form - Complete the form and send it in through the tool provided on that page.

1. Go back to GDC’s “Visit an Inmate” page - The add-on tool is listed alongside the scheduling and cancellation options.
2. Select “Add Visitor” - This link is used for changes to an appointment that is already scheduled.
3. Find your scheduled visitation and add the additional visitor(s) - The tool is designed to pull up your existing appointment, then let you add people to that same scheduled visit.

1. Open GDC’s “Visit an Inmate” page - Cancellation is handled through the same set of visit request tools.
2. Select “Cancel my visit” - This link is specifically for canceling an appointment that has already been scheduled.
3. Find your scheduled visitation and cancel it - If you cannot make it, canceling through the tool is the cleanest way to clear the appointment.

• ✓ For weekend visits, submit your visitation request by 5:00 PM on Wednesday of the same week.
• ✓ For state holiday visits, submit your visitation request by 5:00 PM three days before the holiday.
• ✓ If you are aiming for a weekend or holiday slot, do your scheduling early enough that you are not racing the cutoff.
