Sending Food Packages to Hays State Prison: Your Complete Guide to Union Supply Orders

The Georgia Department of Corrections (GDC) partners with Union Supply to handle food packages for people at GDC State Prisons (including Hays State Prison), Integrated Treatment Facilities (ITFs), and Probation Detention Centers (PDCs). If you're an approved family member or friend, you can place an order through Union Supply using any of the methods below.

Don't wait until the last day. Orders received after the program deadline won't be accepted.

Start at the Georgia Inmate Package website - that's where you'll find online ordering, downloadable paper forms, and the full list of GDC pre-approved items. Everything on that list has already been cleared for the program, so you're only choosing from items that will actually be accepted.

Prefer to order by mail? Send your completed form to: Union Supply, 2500 Regent Blvd Dept. 421, P.O. Box 619059, Dallas, TX 75261-9059.

You can also order by phone at 1-562-361-5719, or use the toll-free line at 1-855-247-0563.

Fax orders go to 1-310-603-1188.

Every Union Supply order includes a $2.95 shipping and handling charge. That fee is non-refundable.

At GDC State Prisons (including Hays) and Integrated Treatment Facilities, packages are capped at $100 per offender or 15 lbs. - whichever you hit first. Keep both limits in mind as you build your order. Going over either one can get the package rejected.

If your loved one is in a Probation Detention Center instead of a state prison, the limit is lower: $50 per offender or 7 lbs. per package, whichever comes first.

Multiple orders for the same person get combined into one package. The combined total still can't exceed the spending or weight limit for that facility type - so coordinate with other family members before anyone places an order.

GDC offers a PDF version of the food package program info if you want a hard copy. When you're ready to order, head to the Georgia Inmate Package website for downloadable forms and the complete list of pre-approved items.
