What to Know Before Your Weekend Visit to Hays State Prison (Checklist)

General population weekend visits at Hays State Prison follow the same window both days: Saturday and Sunday, 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM. If you're deciding which day to go, start with those hours and work backward to make sure your request gets submitted on time.

You'll need to submit a request through the Georgia Department of Corrections visitation form, linked on the GDC "Visit an Inmate" page. Don't wait until the last minute. The system may still accept your entry, but you risk missing the cutoff for the weekend you want.

1. Go to the GDC “Visit an Inmate” page. This is where the request process starts.
2. Open the GDC visitation request form. Use the form linked on that page to request a scheduled visit.
3. Submit your request by the deadline. For Saturday or Sunday visits, the cutoff time is 5:00 PM on Wednesday of the same week.

Planning a State Holiday visit at Hays State Prison? Hours are still 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, but the deadline is different: your request must be in by 5:00 PM three days before the holiday. You'll use the same GDC visitation form linked on the "Visit an Inmate" page.

• ✓ Make sure you are an approved visitor. Fill out the Visitation Request Form and submit the completed form to the facility where the person is incarcerated.

Need to add more people to a visit you've already scheduled? Use the "Add Visitor" link on the GDC visitation page. It lets you pull up your scheduled visitation and tack on additional visitors.

To cancel, use the "Cancel my visit" link on the same GDC visitation page. Pull up your scheduled visitation in the system and cancel the appointment from there.
