Posting Cash Bond at Falkenburg Road Jail: What to Bring, Where to Pay, and What Happens After
Posting a cash bond in Hillsborough County is straightforward once you know the rules: bring the right info, the right payment type, and go to the correct location.
When posting a cash bond or making a purge payment with the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office, you must pay the exact amount. No more, no less. Double-check the total before you leave home and bring the precise dollars required.
Can't bring exact cash? A money order works too. Just make sure the amount matches what's owed - money orders are simply an alternative to paying in cash.
Heads up: Credit and debit cards are not accepted for posting cash bonds at HCSO.
- ✓ The inmate’s name (with the correct spelling)
- ✓ The inmate’s date of birth
- ✓ Your valid photo ID
Bond payments can be made in person at the Orient Road Jail. The address is 1201 Orient Road, Tampa, FL 33619.
If you’re working with a bail bondsman instead of posting cash yourself, know that HCSO only accepts surety bonds from registered bail bond agents.

Once the case is resolved, the cash bond doesn't stay with the Sheriff's Office. Since July 31, 2017, HCSO collects cash bonds but then transmits the money to the Clerk of the Circuit Court. The Clerk handles all distribution after the case disposition.
Refunds aren't always the full amount back. The Clerk of Court reviews the case and, under Florida law, can withhold funds from your cash bond return to cover unpaid prosecution costs, representation costs, court fees, court costs, and criminal penalties.
