Henderson Video Visit Rules: Recording, Monitoring, and Consequences for Misconduct

Video visits can be a lifeline—but Henderson Detention Center treats them like in-person visits. Sessions can be watched, recorded, and ended if someone breaks the rules. Here's what that means for your privacy, your behavior on camera, and your future visiting privileges.

Henderson Video Visit Rules: Recording, Monitoring, and Consequences for Misconduct

All remote video visits at Henderson Detention Center are recorded - attorney visits are the exception. By using the video visitation system, you're agreeing to that recording and monitoring. Assume the facility can review your conversation later.

Staff can also monitor video visits in real time to make sure everyone follows facility rules and Department policies. Your visit isn't private in the everyday sense - employees may check in to confirm things are appropriate and compliant.

Remote video visitation is a privilege, not a right. Henderson Detention Center can limit or revoke access when rules aren't followed - even if you've used the system without issues before.

Misconduct by either the visitor or the incarcerated person can lead to a denied visit, a cancellation before it starts, or a termination mid-session. This can happen fast - sometimes the first sign of a problem is the session ending or being unable to reconnect. Treat the visit like you're walking into the building in person.

Note: If you don’t follow staff directions or you don’t meet the facility’s dress/behavior requirements, your visit can be terminated - and you can lose future visiting privileges.

Prohibited Conduct Examples

  • Treat the video visit like an in-person visit: follow the same dress code, behavior, and language standards, and comply with Department policies, guidelines, and procedures.
  • Don’t display nudity on camera - this is prohibited and can lead to suspension or termination of visiting privileges.
  • Don’t appear in clothing that violates the facility’s dress expectations (for example, revealing or see-through clothing, or clothing with profane/sexually explicit/derogatory language); violations can end the session and affect future privileges.
  • Follow staff directions during the visit; refusing to comply can get the visit cut off and can cost you future access.

A denied, canceled, or terminated visit can result from misconduct - including ignoring staff instructions or violating dress and behavior requirements. The consequences can go beyond that single session: the facility may suspend or terminate your video visitation privileges entirely, restricting future access to the system.

Any charges for video visits are between you and Securus Technologies - the jail isn't involved in those transactions. If you have a billing issue, contact Securus directly rather than the detention center.
