What Happens During a Remote Video Visit at Henderson: Recording, Rules, and Prohibited Conduct

All remote video visits at Henderson are recorded. Staff may monitor calls to ensure everyone follows facility rules. The exception? Attorney visits - those aren't recorded. By using the video visitation system, you consent to recording and monitoring for all non-attorney calls.

Attorney visits: Attorney remote and onsite visitations are available 24/7. When scheduling or creating an account for attorney visitation, have your State Bar card available.

Nudity is prohibited during remote video visits. If it happens, staff will end the call immediately - and your visiting privileges may be suspended or revoked.

Sexual conversations, behavior, or gestures are also off-limits. This includes anything lewd or sexually suggestive. Violations can result in suspension or permanent loss of visiting privileges.

Don't discuss gang activity, criminal activity, or anything the facility considers illicit. These topics are prohibited and can lead to suspension or termination of your visiting privileges.

ID and Minors

  • Present a valid, government-issued picture ID for the remote video visit.

Minors must be supervised by a parent or legal guardian during the entire video visit - and that adult needs to stay visible on camera the whole time. Plan for this ahead so your session doesn't get cut short.

Practical Tips Limits

  • Use a private, quiet space so other people don’t wander into the camera frame.
  • Sit in good lighting so your face is clearly visible.
  • Remove hats and sunglasses before the visit starts.

Your surroundings matter. If someone off-camera mentions criminal or gang activity, it can still jeopardize your visit. Same goes for nudity or sexual content visible anywhere in the frame - even "as a joke." Keep your background calm, your conversation clean, and treat the call like you're sitting in a public visiting room.

  1. Schedule at least 24 hours ahead - Appointments must be made 24 hours in advance, and Henderson does not make exceptions.
  2. Plan for a 20-minute session - Remote video visits are limited to 20 minutes per visit.
  3. Know the daily cap - Inmates may have up to three remote video visits per day, subject to availability.
