What to Bring (and What to Leave Behind) for a Henry County Jail Visit
Visiting someone at Henry County Jail goes smoothly when you show up prepared — right ID, right clothes, and nothing that'll get you stopped at the door. Here's what you need to know to avoid getting turned away.
Bring a valid passport or a U.S./state-issued photo ID. You’ll need it at check-in, and you won’t be able to visit without it.
Arrive early. You need to check in at the Visitation Desk at least 15 minutes before your scheduled visit. Cut it too close and you could miss the window entirely - which means losing your visit.
Once inside, head to the upstairs lobby to register for visitation. Knowing where to go saves time.

- ✓ Short skirts or shorts
- ✓ Any revealing or provocative clothing
Cell phones and other electronics aren't allowed in the visitation area. Bring one in and you'll be stopped - staff will make you remove it before you can continue.
Legal warning: It’s a crime to enter the jail with a weapon, drugs, or alcohol, to be under the influence of drugs or alcohol, or to deliver contraband to an inmate.
Only one adult visitor is allowed at a time for in-person visits. If you're coming with someone else, decide beforehand who's going in.
Bringing a child? They must stay with you the entire time. Juveniles need to be accompanied by a parent, guardian, or custodian - no leaving them unattended in the visitation area or lobby.
Expect to be screened. All visitors are subject to search, and you'll need to follow staff instructions throughout check-in and your visit.
Reminder: Visitation privileges can be revoked if the inmate violates rules, and if you don’t comply with the rules, you may be denied future visitation.
- Hand over approved items before the visit starts - Any authorized items intended for the inmate must be turned over to the Inmate Relations Officer before the visit begins.
