Hidalgo County Jail Dress Code: What You Can and Cannot Wear to Visitation
Headed to visitation at Hidalgo County Adult Detention Facility? The dress code is one of the fastest ways a visit gets derailed. Here's what you need to know to avoid getting turned away at the door.
Shorts and skirts can be no shorter than three inches above the middle of your knee while standing. If you're anywhere near that cutoff, go longer. Standing, walking, and sitting can all make a borderline hemline look shorter than you expected.
Outfits that show your midriff, an open back, bare shoulders, or a low neckline exposing your upper chest aren't allowed. Cover those areas and you won't get stopped at check-in.
The same goes for clothing that exposes your thighs or other large areas of skin. High slits, cutouts, or gaps that reveal a lot? Swap them for something more conservative so you can focus on the visit, not your outfit.
No Tight or Sheer
- ✓ Spandex
- ✓ Leggings
- ✓ Tank tops
- ✓ Tube tops
Sheer or see-through clothing is prohibited. Even with layers underneath, avoid anything that looks transparent under bright lights - staff enforce this rule strictly.
Note: If anyone - including a child - ignores staff directives or becomes disruptive, the visit can be ended and visiting privileges may be revoked.
