Submitting a Relationship Request doesn't instantly unlock visit scheduling. Your request goes to the inmate's unit of assignment, where staff verify the Visitor/Inmate relationship. That verification step determines whether your relationship gets approved in the system.

The “Schedule Visit” option only shows up when things are in good standing for scheduling. Even if your Visitor/Inmate relationship has been confirmed, you may not see a Schedule Visit button if the inmate’s visitation privileges have been removed. In that situation, the scheduler replaces the button with the message “Not Approved for Visits,” which is a strong sign the issue isn’t your request - it’s the person’s current visitation status.

  • Check your visitor home page and look specifically under “Relation Requests Pending Approval” to confirm the request is still waiting on review.
  • Give unit staff time to verify the Visitor/Inmate relationship after you submit the request.
  • Review the details you submitted (like the person you selected and the relationship you chose) to make sure the request you sent matches what you intended.

If your relationship has already been confirmed but you still can’t schedule, pay close attention to what the system shows next to the person’s name. When “Not Approved for Visits” appears instead of a Schedule Visit button, it indicates the inmate’s visitation privileges have been removed, and scheduling won’t be available through the normal button.
