Before You Mail a Money Order to Holman: Deposit Form Checklist

Mailing a money order to Holman? Expect it to take longer than other deposit methods - up to a week, even when everything is filled out correctly. If timing matters, Access Corrections offers faster options. Deposits through the app, online, or at walk-in retailers typically post within 24 hours. That can make a real difference when your loved one is waiting on commissary funds.

Before You Mail a Money Order to Holman: Deposit Form Checklist

Most avoidable delays start with the deposit form. Access Corrections uses the Money Order Deposit Form to match your payment to the right person - if recipient details are missing or unclear, they'll return the money order/check. Mail the money order and the detached Money Order Deposit Form to: Access Corrections – Alabama DOC, P.O. Box 12486, St. Louis, MO 63132. Double-check the recipient's name and ID before sealing the envelope.

  • Recipient first and last name (spelled correctly)
  • Recipient ID (if applicable)
  • Deposit amount
  • Sender first and last name
  • Sender Social Security number (required for deposits or combined deposits of $3,000 or more)
  • Mail the completed, detached Money Order Deposit Form with the money order/check to: Access Corrections – Alabama DOC, P.O. Box 12486, St. Louis, MO 63132

How you package everything matters more than you'd think. The Money Order Deposit Form must be included with the money order/check for Access Corrections to process the deposit. Keep the paperwork loose in the envelope. Don't staple, paper clip, fold, or tape the money order/check to the form - those small touches actually create processing problems.

Two common delay triggers: If Access Corrections can't clearly identify the recipient from your form, they'll return the money order/check. Attaching the money order to the form with staples, paper clips, tape, or folding can also slow things down.

There's a hard cap on how much you can send this way. The daily deposit amount by money order cannot exceed $900.00 - if you need to send more, split it across multiple days. Accuracy matters because returns are expensive. A $25 handling fee will be charged for any returned money order or check.

Larger deposits require extra information. Federal law requires the sender to provide their Social Security number for deposits or combined deposits of $3,000 or more. Make sure the payment itself meets requirements: all deposits must be issued in U.S. funds, and money orders/checks must be drawn from U.S. financial institutions.

Once everything is ready, mail your money order and the detached Money Order Deposit Form to: Access Corrections – Alabama DOC, P.O. Box 12486, St. Louis, MO 63132. Using a deposit coupon? Print one from accesscorrections.com or request one at a facility. Include the printed coupon with your mailed money order so it processes correctly.
