What to Wear (and What Not to Wear) When Visiting Holmes CI
Headed to Holmes Correctional Institution for a visit? What you wear could determine whether you get through the door. Here's how to avoid getting turned away at check-in.
Shirts and shoes are required for all visitors at Holmes CI. Show up without either, and you'll be denied entry. Plan your outfit around these basics before you leave home.
- ✓ Heelys (shoes with wheels)
- ✓ Any footwear with removable parts
Dresses, skirts, and Bermuda-length shorts must fall no more than three inches above the knee. Quick check: if the hemline sits noticeably higher than where your fingertips land with your arms relaxed at your sides, swap to something longer.
If you’re 16 or older, bring a valid photo ID. You must present it to enter the visiting area, and showing up without it can stop your visit before it starts.
