Every visitor to Hood County Jail must register through the Hood County GTL VisitMe portal and get approved before scheduling any visits. This includes minors—an adult needs to add children through the portal's Manage Visitor Group option, and the jail must approve them separately. Visiting hours depend on housing assignment: male inmates have visits Wednesdays from 7:00 pm–10:00 pm and Saturdays from 1:00 pm–5:00 pm. Female inmates have visits Tuesdays from 7:00 pm–9:00 pm and Sundays from 1:00 pm–3:00 pm. Schedules can change due to lockdowns or security issues, so check the portal before you travel.

Mail rules at Hood County Jail changed on December 6, 2023. Personal mail—letters, greeting cards, and similar items—gets returned to sender.
