Hood County Jail video visits involve two different online systems. The Hood County GTL VisitMe site is where you register so the jail can review and approve you as a visitor. Telmate's scheduling site is where you'll actually start or schedule video visits once you're approved.
GTL VisitMe handles the "get approved" step. Schedule.telmate.com handles the "start your video visit" step. Don't skip ahead - if you try to schedule before your visitor registration is approved, you won't get through. Start with GTL VisitMe, then move to Telmate.
Head to Hood County's GTL VisitMe site: https://hoodcountytx.gtlvisitme.com/app. This is the jail's online registration portal for visitation services - complete this first before moving on to video visits.
Reminder: ALL visitors, including minors, must be registered and approved by the jail before they can schedule a visit.
- Go to the GTL VisitMe registration page - Use https://hoodcountytx.gtlvisitme.com/app to start your visitor registration.
- Create your visitor account and submit your details - Complete the registration so the jail has what it needs to review you.
- Wait for approval before trying to schedule - You (and anyone visiting with you, including minors) must be registered and approved by the jail before you can schedule a visit.
After you're registered and approved on GTL VisitMe, head to Telmate's scheduling site: https://schedule.telmate.com.
- Sign in or create your Telmate account - On https://schedule.telmate.com, you’ll need to log in or make an account before you can schedule a video visit.
- Accept the agreement - Read the agreement, check the boxes next to each statement, then click “Accept.”
Once your Telmate account is ready, select the person you want to visit. Click "Visit Now" in the Online section to start a video visit when they're available, or schedule ahead through the same system.
Children need to be registered and approved too. To add a minor, log into your GTL VisitMe account and use the "Manage Visitor Group" option to register them under your visitor group. Once the jail approves them, you can include them when scheduling visits.
Note: Telmate/ViaPath Friends & Family accounts become inactive and are subject to forfeiture after 180 consecutive days of inactivity or non-use.
