How to Schedule a Visit at Hunt County Detention: Days, Call-In Hours, and Voicemail

Hunt County Detention holds visitation on three days each week: Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday. If you’re trying to plan time off work, childcare, or a ride, start by aiming for one of those visit days.

You don't schedule on the day of the visit - you call ahead. For a Wednesday visit, call on Tuesday. For Friday or Sunday visits, call on Thursday.

Call 903-453-6850 to schedule. Staff answer between 8:00 AM and 4:00 PM - after that, nobody picks up. If you're calling late in the day, either try earlier or be ready to leave a voicemail.

Voicemail: If your call isn’t answered between 8:00 AM and 4:00 PM, leave a message - your call will be returned that day.

How to Schedule a Visit at Hunt County Detention: Days, Call-In Hours, and Voicemail
  1. Call the scheduling line - Dial 903-453-6850.
  2. Call during the answered window - Place your call between 8:00 AM and 4:00 PM.
  1. Leave a voicemail if no one answers (during hours) - If your call isn’t picked up between 8:00 AM and 4:00 PM, leave a message and expect a return call the same day.
  2. Don’t wait until after 4:00 PM - The phone is not answered after 4:00 PM, so calling late may delay getting scheduled.

Holiday weeks can throw off the normal call-in schedule. Don't assume the Tuesday/Thursday pattern holds during those times.

During holiday weeks, confirm the current call-in days by checking with your inmate or calling 903-453-6850.

Calling after 4:00 PM? You won't reach anyone. If you're up against a deadline, try again the next day between 8:00 AM and 4:00 PM.

Reminder: Messages left during the 8:00 AM–4:00 PM scheduling hours should be returned the same day.
