Troubleshooting the Hunt County Portal: Cookies, Supported Browsers, and Access Levels
If the Hunt County Tyler Portal won't load, keeps looping, or shows a "browser not supported" error, the fix is usually simple. The portal requires cookies and only works with certain browsers (current and previous major releases). Once you're in, you'll see three access levels: Level I Smart Search (no registration needed), Level II Register (includes the Payment Portal and a "Request Access" option), and Level III Attorney Role (restricted access for e-discovery and documents).
The portal uses cookies, and your browser needs to allow them. If cookies are blocked, you'll either see a message about enabling cookies or find yourself unable to stay signed in while searching.
Tip: Stuck on a cookie warning? Check your browser's privacy settings. Private browsing modes and strict tracking protections often block cookies by default.
The portal supports Google Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer, and Safari. Support is rolling: only the current major release and one version back are supported. When a new major version launches, the oldest supported version drops off.
Tip: Getting a "browser no longer supports this application" message? Update to the latest version or switch to another supported browser.
Level I is Smart Search. Anyone can use it to search court records without creating an account.
Level II is Register. This level unlocks the Payment Portal. After registering, you'll see a "Request Access" option if you need higher-level permissions.
Level III is the Attorney Role. This restricted access gives licensed attorneys e-discovery on criminal cases and access to documents filed with the Hunt County Clerk.
- ✓ Start with Level I (Smart Search) if you only need to look up court records and do not want to register.
- ✓ Register for Level II if you need the Payment Portal, then use the “Request Access” option if you are trying to reach a higher access level.
- ✓ If you are a licensed attorney and need e-discovery or document access, look for the Level III (Attorney Role) access path.
Hitting a permissions error or not seeing what you expected? It's probably your access level. Level II features require registration, and Level III is attorneys only. If you see a "Request Access" option after registering, that's how you request elevated permissions.
- Try Level I (Smart Search): You can search court records without registering.
- Register for Level II if needed: Use this if you need the Payment Portal, then choose “Request Access” if the portal presents it.
- Use Level III only if you qualify: The Attorney Role is restricted to licensed attorneys and is meant for e-discovery and document access.
