Before visiting Hutchins Unit, set up your own TDCJ online visitation scheduler account. Unit staff can't create or delete accounts, and the email you register with can't be changed. You'll need the 7-digit validation code sent to your email to finish registration. On-site visitation runs Saturdays and Sundays from 8:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Most eligible inmates can have one visit per weekly cycle, and regular in-person visits last up to two hours once both you and the inmate are present. Remote video/tablet visits may also be available once per month for up to 60 minutes—though some options won't appear if a visit is already scheduled that week. Each inmate can have up to ten approved visitors on their Visitors List. Call the unit before traveling to confirm the inmate's assignment and that visitation isn't canceled. Bring a current government-issued photo ID with a current physical address on at least one ID.

Cash and personal checks aren't accepted—they'll be returned. To mail a deposit, send a money order or cashier's check with a deposit slip to: Inmate Trust Fund, PO Box 60, Huntsville, TX 77342-0060. You can also use approved vendors (Access Corrections, ACE, eCommDirect, JPay, TouchPay) or set up ACH monthly debits. Vendors and kiosks charge service fees and follow their own processing rules. Keep timing in mind: single transactions of $500 or more (and certain checks) are held for 14 days before the inmate can access the funds. Commissary prices and availability vary by location.
