How to Contact an Inmate at Imperial County Jail (CA)
If your loved one is at the Regional Adult Detention Facility (RADF), confirm the current visitation process before you go. That way you'll show up with the right ID and within the sign-up window.
For visitation information at the Regional Adult Detention Facility (RADF), call (442) 265-2266. If you need to report an instance of sexual abuse in the jail facilities (PREA), call (442) 265-2323.
RADF resumed in-person, on-site barrier visits on March 20, 2023. Schedules and procedures can change, so call ahead to confirm the current visitation status before heading in.
Bring a valid U.S. government photo ID (local, state, or federal) for sign-up and the visit itself. Each inmate is allowed a maximum of two visitors. A child who can walk counts as one visitor. Babies-in-arms don't count, but you can't have more than two babies-in-arms per inmate.
Steps to Follow
- ✓ Sign-ups for visits at RADF open at 7:00 a.m. and close at 6:30 p.m. on the day of visits.
- ✓ Sign up at least one hour before the scheduled visit time.
- Call for current visitation details - Contact RADF visitation information at (442) 265-2266 to confirm what’s available before you go.
- Bring the right ID - You must present a valid local, state, or federal U.S. government photo identification card at the time of sign-up/visit.
Note: RADF limits each inmate to two visitors. A walking child counts as a visitor, and babies-in-arms do not count, with a maximum of two babies-in-arms per inmate.
Before you travel, call (442) 265-2266 to verify the same-day sign-up window. This can save you from arriving after sign-ups have closed or showing up on a day when the process has changed.
Confirm the basics that affect whether you get in: that in-person on-site barrier visits are still the current format, that the one-hour sign-up cutoff still applies, and which IDs are accepted. Double-check the two-visitor limit too, including how children and babies-in-arms are counted.
PREA reporting: To report sexual abuse in the jail facilities, call (442) 265-2323. If you’re making a report, ask what information they need and what happens next.
