Your Visitation Rights and Rules at Imperial County Jail (Who Counts, Dress Code, and Visit Frequency)

Inmates at Imperial County Jail can receive at least two visits per week, totaling one hour of visitation time. There's also a daily cap - only one visit per inmate per day. So if multiple people want to come, you'll need to coordinate who visits when.

Each visit allows a maximum of two visitors per inmate. This matters when you're trying to bring family together - if your group is larger than two (not counting certain babies, explained below), you'll have to decide who goes in.

  • A child who is able to walk counts as one of the two allowed visitors.
  • Babies carried in arms do not count as visitors, but there can’t be more than two babies-in-arms per inmate.

You'll need a valid, non-expired photo ID to sign up for a visit. It must show your name, date of birth, and photograph. Staff will verify the information matches and check the expiration date.

  • Your identification
  • Your wallet
  • Your car/home keys

Dress Code Checklist

  • Low-cut shirts
  • Short shorts
  • Tank tops
  • See-through clothing
  • Dresses or skirts shorter than mid-thigh
  • Spaghetti straps or strapless clothing

You'll be searched before entering, so keep what you bring to a minimum. Bring your valid, non-expired photo ID - you need it to sign up. But leave purses and bags behind; they're not allowed during the visit.

Your Visitation Rights and Rules at Imperial County Jail (Who Counts, Dress Code, and Visit Frequency)
  1. Bring a current photo ID - It must be valid (not expired) and show your name, date of birth, and photo.
  2. Keep your group within the limit - Only two visitors are allowed per inmate for a visit.
  3. Count walking kids as a visitor - If your child can walk, they take up one of the two visitor spots.
  4. Plan around babies-in-arms - Babies carried in arms don’t count toward the two visitors, but no more than two babies-in-arms are allowed.
  5. Dress to pass the front desk - Avoid low-cut shirts, short shorts, tank tops, see-through clothing, dresses/skirts shorter than mid-thigh, and spaghetti straps or strapless clothing.
  6. Travel light - You’re subject to search, and you won’t be allowed to bring items like purses or bags into the facility during the visit.
