What You Can Bring Into Imperial County Jail During Visits (ID, wallet, keys, and that's it)
Imperial County Jail has a strict policy on what visitors can bring inside. You're limited to three things: your ID, your wallet, and car or home keys. Everything else stays out.
Quick reminder: Bring only your ID, your wallet, and your car or home keys. That is it.
Purses, bags, and other personal belongings aren't allowed inside during visits. Leave anything that's not on the approved list secured in your car or at home. You're responsible for keeping track of your own stuff.
Liability note: The Imperial County Sheriff’s Department is not liable for any item left unattended by the visitor.
Your ID isn't just one of the few items you can bring in. It's also required to sign up for a visit. Imperial County Jail requires a current, valid photo ID that shows your name and date of birth. Expired? Missing that info? You'll be turned away at check-in, even if everything else is in order.
