How to Apply for Visitation at Indiana Creek Correctional Center: Complete the 20–30 Minute Online Application

• ✓ A picture ID you can use for the application and later bring to the visit (Driver’s License, Military ID, passport only if you do not reside in the United States, or another official picture ID issued by a federal or state agency)

1. Set aside 20–30 uninterrupted minutes - the online application can’t be saved, so plan to finish it in one sitting.
2. Gather the basics before you open the form - have the inmate’s name or inmate ID number, your Social Security Number, and your picture ID ready.
3. Work through the application fields carefully - complete every required question before moving on so you don’t get stuck at the end.
4. Double-check your contact email - VADOC sends application status updates to the email address you provide.
5. Submit the application in the same session - once everything is complete, submit it right away since you can’t return to a saved draft later.

Want to add a minor to your application? The adult applying must be the child's parent or legal guardian - or have notarized written approval from the parent/legal guardian. You'll also need to verify the minor isn't a victim of the inmate's crime.

After you submit, expect to wait weeks - not days. Processing takes about 45 days for Virginia residents and about 90 days for out-of-state residents. Updates go to the email address you listed on your application.

Approvals don't last forever - they expire three years after the approval date. To keep visiting without interruption, you'll need to renew online. Submit your renewal at least 45 days before expiration if you're a Virginia resident, or at least 90 days before if you're out of state.
