How to Register for Visits at Indiana Women's Prison (ViaPath): Step-by-step Guide

You can't just show up at Indiana Women's Prison or pick a time slot without preparation. The Indiana Department of Correction requires every visitor to register for a ViaPath account and be approved first - whether you want an in-person visit or a video call. No registration, no visit.

1. Create your ViaPath account - Registration is free, and it’s the starting point for the IDOC visitation process.
2. Fill out the electronic visitation application (State Form 14387) - Complete the form carefully, using your own information.
3. Submit the application in ViaPath - Once it’s submitted, you’ll move into the approval process. You must be approved before you can schedule an in-person or online visit.

After you submit your application, Indiana DOC runs criminal background and warrant checks on every applicant age 16 and older. If an active warrant shows up, facility Investigations and Intelligence staff and/or a Correctional Police Officer will review the application as part of the decision process.
