Want to keep sending pictures and messages after the IDOC tablet transition? You'll need to create a new account on GettingOut.com. Even if you've used tablet messaging before, a fresh account is required - your old login won't carry over to the new system.
- Go to GettingOut.com - open a web browser and type gettingout.com.
- Click “Create Account” - you’ll see this option on the site.
- Enter your date of birth and confirm your age - type your DOB as prompted, then select “Confirm Age.”
- Click “Create Account” again - this completes the initial account-creation flow.
- Find the GettingOut app - open the App Store on your iPhone or iPad and search for “GettingOut.”
- Tap “Get” - this starts the download.
- Tap “Install” - your device may prompt you to confirm.
- Sign in - enter your password and tap “Sign In.”
Don’t miss this: To receive a VisitNow request, you must be signed into the GO Visits mobile app.
The tablets are being upgraded to new hardware (Command 5.0). Your only task: create a new GettingOut.com account so messages and pictures keep flowing after the switch. The tablets themselves are assigned to incarcerated individuals but remain state property.
These aren't regular consumer devices. The new tablets run on a closed intranet - no internet access, no web browsing, no social media.
Costs Rules

- ✓ Adding a photo costs an additional $0.50 per photo (on top of the message price).
- ✓ Tablets can’t connect to the internet and don’t allow access to social media or other webpages.
Headphones come with the tablet at no cost. If your loved one loses them or they wear out, replacements have to be purchased through commissary.
