How to Schedule a Visit at Indio Jail and What to Bring
Visiting someone at Indio Jail gets a lot easier when you know the scheduling window, visitor limits, and what could get you turned away at the door. Follow the steps and checklists below to get in without a hitch and make the most of your time.
To schedule a visit, call the visiting number listed on the facility page. Scheduling calls are accepted from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., and you must book at least one day before your intended visit. Hours and requirements can shift, so double-check the facility page for the current number and instructions before making the trip.
Inmates are allowed a maximum of two visits per week, with each visit lasting approximately 45 minutes. If you're traveling from out of town or coordinating with other family members, that time limit matters. Arrive ready, keep your visit focused, and don't count on extra time if you're running late.
A maximum of two adults and two children are allowed per visit. Decide ahead of time who's going in and who's sitting out. If more people want to visit, you'll need to split into separate visits within the weekly limit.
Visitors must be 18 years or older. Anyone under 18 needs to be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian. If you're unsure who should accompany a minor, sort that out before scheduling - otherwise you risk losing your visit at check-in.

Once you sign up to visit someone, you can only see the inmate you registered for - no switching or trading with another visitor. And if you leave the visitation area for any reason, your visit ends. Need to step out? Handle it before you enter.
Note: Alcohol, illegal drugs, weapons, tear gas/O.C. dispensers, cameras, and knives aren’t allowed in the visiting area - bringing prohibited items can end your visit immediately.
The lobby and visiting areas are strictly controlled. No smoking anywhere in the jail, including the lobby. No food or drink in the lobby or visiting areas. Leave snacks and drinks in your vehicle so you're not forced to toss them at the door.
