Understanding the Visitors' List at Travisono ISC: How Many Names, Money-Only Contacts, and Switching Lists
If you're trying to visit someone at Travisono ISC (or help them with money), the visitors' list rules matter more than most people realize. Here's how many names a sentenced inmate can add, what "money-only" names mean, and what happens if you need to switch to a different inmate's list.
Sentenced inmates can put nine (9) people on their visitors' list. Those nine names cover both visiting privileges and the ability to deposit money into the inmate's ACI account. This matters for deposits because, generally, a depositor must be on the inmate's visiting list to put funds into the account. If you want to help financially but you're not on the list yet, the inmate will usually need to add you first (or you can use one of the exceptions explained below).
Background checks: To visit regularly, your name must be on the inmate's visitors' list, and you'll need to pass both BCI and NCIC background checks.
Travisono ISC also lets a sentenced inmate add two (2) extra names for "money purposes only." Those two people can deposit funds into the inmate's ACI account but are not allowed to visit. This is an exception to the usual deposit rule, since deposits normally require you to be on the visiting list. If you want to support someone financially but won't be visiting, ask the inmate whether they can add you as one of their two money-only names.
Your name can only appear on one (1) inmate's visitors' list at a time. You generally can't be on multiple lists simultaneously. The one exception: if more than one of your immediate family members is incarcerated at the ACI, you can be listed for more than one person.
Removing and Switching
- ✓ Ask the inmate to take your name off his/her visitors’ list.
- ✓ Bring proper identification to the facility reception desk and ask the correctional officer to remove your name from the inmate’s list.
- ✓ If the inmate needs help with the paperwork, counselors can assist inmates in filling out the form to add a name to the visitors’ list (and making list changes).
Switching from one inmate's list to another? Plan for a waiting period. Once your name is removed from an inmate's visitors' list, you must wait thirty (30) days before you can be added to another inmate's list.
If your main goal is getting money to someone quickly, there's a built-in grace period. Even though depositors generally must be on the inmate's visiting list, a 30-day grace period allows time for the inmate to add people. During that window, anyone can deposit funds into the inmate's account. This takes some pressure off while the inmate works through the process of adding names.
