How to Schedule Visits at Jackson County Jail (Thursday–Friday window) — and What Happens If You’re Late
Visiting someone in jail can feel stressful, especially when scheduling is limited to a short weekly window. Here's how Jackson County Jail's scheduling works, how your visit time gets assigned, and what happens if you show up late.
Jackson County Jail only lets you schedule visits during one narrow weekly window: Thursday at 1:00 pm through Friday at 6:00 pm. Outside that window, the online scheduling system is closed. Set a reminder so you're ready to book as soon as it opens on Thursday.
The jail allows one scheduled visit per weekend, and each visit lasts 30 minutes. If multiple family members want to visit, coordinate ahead of time so no one accidentally uses the weekend slot before everyone's on the same page.
You also can't pick any time of day you want. Visit times are assigned based on where the adult in custody (AIC) is housed. That housing assignment determines your time slot, and it can change if the AIC gets moved to a different unit.

- ✓ Confirm the AIC has you on their Active Visitor List (the list can include up to 10 people).
- ✓ If possible, have the AIC’s name and SO# ready so you can move quickly once scheduling opens.
- ✓ Plan to schedule during the only available online window: Thursday 1:00 pm through Friday 6:00 pm.
- ✓ Use a reliable internet connection so you do not lose time during the scheduling window.
Note: The Active Visitor List is controlled by the AIC. Names on that list can only be changed by the AIC through official correspondence, so check with them about any updates before the Thursday–Friday scheduling window opens.
Jackson County Jail enforces a strict arrival cutoff. You must arrive at least 15 minutes before your scheduled visit time. If you don't, the visit gets cancelled. No exceptions. If you're cutting it close, plan for the next available scheduling window rather than hoping the jail will hold your spot.
- Plan to be on-site early - build in extra time for traffic and finding your way so you can arrive at least 15 minutes before the scheduled start.
- Treat the scheduled time as non-negotiable - because late arrival cancels the visit, aim for a buffer that still works if something small goes wrong.
- If you cannot make the cutoff, plan for next week - a missed visit is considered cancelled, so focus on scheduling again during the Thursday 1:00 pm to Friday 6:00 pm window.
Since visit times are tied to the AIC's housing unit, your scheduled time can shift if they get moved. Before you head out, double-check the assigned appointment time so you're working off the most current schedule.
Having trouble finding the online scheduling option? Don't wait until Friday evening to figure it out. Sort out the process early enough that you can still book within the Thursday 1:00 pm through Friday 6:00 pm window.
Reminder: If you're not on the AIC's Active Visitor List, you won't be allowed to visit. Also re-check the assigned time close to your visit date, since housing-based time slots can change.
