How to Deposit Money and Mail Payments to Jackson County Jail (kiosk, cash, money orders, and bail)
Need to put money on an Adult in Custody (AIC) account at Jackson County Jail? You have three main options: a 24-hour lobby kiosk, cash deposits at the reception counter on visiting days, or mailing a money order or cashier's check.
For most people, the easiest option is the kiosk in the jail lobby. It accepts cash deposits to an AIC's account around the clock, 24 hours per day.
Jackson County Jail also allows cash deposits at the reception counter, but there's a catch. Unless you're posting bail, cash deposits to an AIC's account are only accepted on visiting days, and only from someone who has completed a visit.
Prefer to send funds by mail? Use a money order or cashier's check and make it out exactly as: "Jackson County Jail for (insert AIC's name)." If the payee line isn't written that way, the jail won't cash it and will return it to the sender. Mail it to: Jackson County Jail, 787 W 8th St, Medford, OR 97501. Personal checks are not accepted unless written by a local attorney on their trust account.
The lobby kiosk is available around the clock for cash deposits to an AIC's account. Just head to the jail lobby and use the kiosk at whatever time works for you, 24 hours per day.
- ✓ Bring cash for your deposit
- ✓ Keep your kiosk receipt until you can confirm the money reached the correct account
That same lobby kiosk handles bail payments too. Jackson County Jail accepts bail by credit card or cash at the kiosk in the jail lobby.
Want to hand cash directly to staff at the reception counter? You'll need to plan around visitation. Except for bail, cash deposits at the counter are only accepted on visiting days, and only from someone who has completed a visit.
Plan ahead: If you're traveling from out of town, the reception counter option only works if you complete a visit on a visiting day. Otherwise, use the lobby kiosk or mail a money order/cashier's check.
Jackson County Jail is strict about how mailed payments are filled out. Money orders or cashier's checks must be made payable exactly as: "Jackson County Jail for (insert AIC's name)." Get the payee line wrong, and the jail won't cash it. They'll return it to the sender.

Posting bail during regular business hours? You'll need to go to the courthouse, not the jail. Monday through Friday, 8:00 am through 4:00 pm, bail must be posted in cash at the courthouse in the Justice building at 100 S. Oakdale, Medford, Oregon.
After hours, bail can be posted using a credit or debit card through the CorrectPay website.
You can also use the jail lobby kiosk after hours. It accepts bail by credit card or cash.
The number one reason mailed payments get sent back? The payee line. Money orders or cashier's checks must be written as "Jackson County Jail for (insert AIC's name)." Anything else, and the jail will return it to the sender.
Don't send a personal check. Jackson County Jail won't accept one unless it's written by a local attorney on their trust account.
