What You Need to Know Before Your First Visit to Jasper County Jail (GA)

Before you can visit, you need to be on the approved visitor list. Start by filling out the Visitation Request Form and submitting it to the facility where your loved one is incarcerated. You can download the form from the Georgia Department of Corrections (GDC) visitation pages - just make sure it's fully completed before you turn it in.

Heads up: You must be on an offender’s approved visitor list to use any payment method to send money to that offender.

To request a scheduled visit at Jasper County Jail, submit the GDC visitation request using the online form (available on the GDC site). Do this before you make the trip - it's required to get on the schedule.

Timing matters. For weekend visits, you need to submit your request by 5:00 PM on Wednesday of the same week. State holidays have a different deadline - submit your request by 5:00 PM three days before the holiday.

Tip: Don't wait until the last minute. Miss the Wednesday 5:00 PM cutoff for a weekend visit (or the 5:00 PM deadline three days before a state holiday), and you'll be pushed to the next available date.

Who can visit depends on your relationship. Immediate family - parents, siblings, spouse, grandparents, grandchildren, and children - can be requested by the offender for visitation approval. Not immediate family? You may still qualify as a "significant relationship" visitor. This includes step-parents, step-siblings, in-laws, aunts, uncles, cousins, half-siblings, nieces, nephews, step-children, friends, employers, pastors, and other supportive relationships. These requests go through an offender-initiated application reviewed by the warden, so expect more coordination than a standard family request.
