How to Send Money to an Inmate at Jefferson Parish Correctional Center (3 methods)

JPCC lets family and friends deposit money into an inmate's account for commissary purchases. Below, I'll cover all three approved methods - cash at the Intake Booking lobby kiosk, online deposits through Forecomm Solutions, and mailed money orders - so you can pick what works best and get the funds to the right account.

Prefer to pay with cash? JPCC has a kiosk in the Intake Booking lobby that's open 24 hours a day. It's cash only - no credit or debit cards. You'll need the inmate's CCN to make sure your deposit goes to the right person.

The big advantage here? Speed. Cash deposits at the kiosk post immediately to the inmate's account.

  • Bring cash (the kiosk accepts cash only)
  • Have the inmate’s CCN ready before you start
  • Expect the deposit to post immediately

JPCC also accepts online deposits through the Forecomm Solutions website. You'll need the inmate's CCN, and once the transaction goes through, funds post immediately. Forecomm takes credit and debit cards.

Forecomm has built-in limits that can block transactions even when your card is fine. The cap is $300 per deposit, with a maximum of 3 transactions within seven days. If you see a denial for

Using a prepaid card? Register the cardholder address with the card company before you try depositing on Forecomm. Without a registered address, the payment may fail.

  1. Go to the Forecomm Solutions website - start an online deposit for JPCC.
  2. Enter the inmate’s CCN - this is required to route the money to the correct account.
  3. Add your payment details - use a credit/debit card, and if it’s a prepaid card, make sure the cardholder address is registered with the card company first.
  4. Submit and confirm the result - successful deposits post immediately; if you get a “suspicious credit card activity” denial, check whether you’ve hit the $300 per-deposit cap or the 3-transactions-in-7-days limit.

You can also send funds by mail using a money order - JPCC won't accept cash through the mail. Make sure the envelope includes the inmate's full name (as it appears while they're incarcerated) and their CCN to avoid delays.

Mailed money orders don't post right away. After USPS delivers it, expect 1 to 3 business days for processing before the funds hit the inmate's account.

Address the envelope to: JPCC Inmate Housing Area P.O. Box 388 Gretna, LA 70053

Need the money there fast? The Intake Booking lobby kiosk and Forecomm online deposits both post immediately. Mailing a money order takes longer - after USPS delivery, processing runs 1 to 3 business days. For urgent commissary needs, use the kiosk (cash) or Forecomm (card). Save mail for when timing isn't critical.

Watch the CCN: The inmate's CCN is what keeps your deposit from landing in the wrong account - whether you're at the kiosk, online, or mailing a money order. Double-check it before you hit submit or seal the envelope.

Don’t mail cash: JPCC accepts money orders only through the mail. Cash should never be sent in an envelope.
