Why Your Online Deposit to Jefferson Parish Jail Might Be Declining
If your online deposit to Jefferson Parish Correctional Center keeps getting declined, it usually comes down to a handful of fixable issues. Here are the most common reasons Forecomm deposits fail and what to do about each one.
Jefferson Parish Correctional Center accepts online inmate account deposits through the Forecomm Solutions website. To fund an account, look for the "Deposit Inmate Funds" option and follow the on-screen prompts. When a payment declines, the cause is almost always tied to card verification, prepaid card setup, or Forecomm's deposit limits. It's not something you did "wrong."
For a standard credit or debit card, Forecomm checks the billing address you enter against the address your card company has on file. If they don't match exactly, the transaction gets declined. This can happen after a recent move, if you typed an old ZIP code, or even if you entered the address slightly differently than your bank records it (think "Apt 3" vs. "Apartment 3").
Quick fix: Before retrying, confirm the exact billing address your card issuer has on file, including apartment numbers and abbreviations. Then enter it the same way on Forecomm.
Prepaid cards have an extra hurdle. You must register an address with the prepaid card company before using the card for an online deposit on Forecomm. If the card hasn't been registered to an address yet, it will fail address verification and decline, even when there's still money on the card.
Forecomm also has built-in limits that can trigger a decline even when your card information is correct. For Jefferson Parish inmate accounts, the maximum per online deposit is $300. On top of that, Forecomm caps you at 3 transactions within any seven-day period. Try to submit a fourth deposit in that window, or go over $300 in a single transaction, and the system will deny it automatically.
Quick rule: Keep each deposit at $300 or less, and space your deposits so you don't exceed 3 transactions in seven days.
If you need help with the Forecomm website, call their customer service line at 337-234-3534 (select option 1). They can troubleshoot site issues, but they cannot accept credit card numbers over the phone. Deposits cannot be completed by phone under any circumstance.
Trying to confirm whether money actually posted? Have your deposit task number ready. Forecomm can verify that a deposit went through if you provide that number, but they won't share any information about an incarcerated individual's account balance or activity.
Tip: Write down your deposit task number right after you submit a payment. If you call 337-234-3534 (option 1), they can help with site issues and posting verification, but they still cannot take your card info or process a deposit by phone.
If online deposits keep failing, you have backup options. Jefferson Parish Correctional Center has a lobby kiosk that accepts cash only, and those deposits post immediately to the inmate's account. You can also mail a money order. JPCC accepts only money orders by mail, and you must include the inmate's correct name and CCN. Mailed money orders don't post right away; expect 1 to 3 business days for processing after USPS delivery.
