Sending Food Packages to Johnson State Prison: Your Complete Guide
Sending a food package is straightforward once you know the approved vendor, ordering process, and limits. Here's how the Union Supply program works for Georgia facilities.
Georgia's Department of Corrections uses Union Supply for food item packages sent to State Prisons, Integrated Treatment Facilities (ITFs), and Probation Detention Centers. If you're sending to someone at Johnson State Prison, this is the program you'll use. Only approved family and friends can place orders, so confirm you're cleared to participate before filling anything out.
To order by mail, send your completed form to: Union Supply 2500 Regent Blvd Dept. 421 P.O. Box 619059 Dallas, TX 75261-9059. Double-check everything before mailing - missing details can delay your order.
You can also place an order by phone. Call 1-562-361-5719, or use the toll-free number 1-855-247-0563.
Fax orders are accepted as well. Use fax number 1-310-603-1188.
You can also order online. The Georgia Inmate Package website has downloadable order forms that show which items are pre-approved for the person you're sending to - helpful for avoiding rejected items.
Check the limits before ordering. State Prisons and ITFs allow a maximum of $100 per offender or 15 lbs. per package - whichever you hit first. Probation Detention Centers have stricter limits: $50 per offender or 7 lbs. per package, again whichever comes first.
Heads up: If you place multiple orders for the same offender, they will be consolidated into one package - and the combined package still can’t exceed the applicable spending or weight limits.
Timing matters. Orders received after the program deadline won't be accepted, so don't wait until the last minute - especially if you're mailing your form.
Fee reminder: Every order has a $2.95 shipping and handling charge, and it’s non-refundable.
Most GDC facilities use Union Supply, but there are exceptions. Riverbend Private Prison still uses Access Securepak until further notice. Before submitting payment or mailing anything, confirm Johnson State Prison uses Union Supply - you don't want to send to the wrong vendor.
