What Is a CCN Number and Why You Need It for JPCC Deposits and Mail
At Jefferson Parish Correctional Center (JPCC), the CCN is what connects your money deposit or mail to the right person. Get it wrong—or leave it off—and your deposit or letter could be delayed or credited to the wrong account.
A CCN is the identifier JPCC uses to match services - commissary deposits, incoming mail - to the correct inmate. Think of it as the routing number for everything you send. You'll need the CCN when depositing money at the lobby kiosk, sending funds online through Forecomm Solutions, or mailing in a money order. For regular letters, include the inmate's name as it appears at the time of incarceration, the CCN, and (if you know it) the dorm number and cell or bed number on the envelope.
Note: All mail at JPCC is opened and inspected for contraband. Items that violate the rules can be seized and disposed of. Accurate addressing - name at incarceration, CCN, and dorm/cell/bed if known - helps your mail reach the right person.
Depositing in person? The JPCC lobby kiosk requires the inmate's CCN so funds go to the correct account. It's cash only - no cards - but accepts all bill denominations. Funds post immediately, making the kiosk a solid choice when timing matters and you have cash on hand.
Online deposits go through Forecomm Solutions. You'll still need the CCN to ensure the money lands in the right account, but unlike the kiosk, Forecomm accepts credit and debit cards. Funds post immediately here too - convenient if you can't make it to the lobby or don't have cash.
Sending money by mail? JPCC accepts money orders only - never cash. Include the inmate's correct name (the name they had at incarceration) and the CCN so staff can credit the right account. Mail deposits take longer. After USPS delivers the money order, expect 1 to 3 business days for processing before it shows up on the inmate's account.
Don't have the CCN? Call JPCC at 504-368-5360. They can give you the inmate's CCN, dorm, and cell/bed number. Before mailing anything or sending funds, double-check that you're using the inmate's name at incarceration and the correct CCN. This one step prevents most deposit and mail mix-ups.
