How to Send Personal Mail to Someone at Kent County Jail (Smart Communications)

Since April 1, 2025, Kent County Jail no longer accepts personal mail sent directly to inmates. Letters, postcards, greeting cards, books, magazines - all of it gets returned if you send it straight to the jail.

Send all personal mail to Smart Communications at this address (copy it exactly): Smart Communications [Inmate Name and Booking/ID Number] PO Box 9216 Seminole, FL 33775-9195.

• ✓ Write the inmate’s full name
• ✓ Include the inmate’s Booking/ID number
• ✓ Print clearly so the name and Booking/ID number are easy to read

Your letter doesn't arrive at the jail as a physical piece of mail. Smart Communications opens and scans everything, then delivers those scanned pages to the inmate's facility-issued tablet.

Once your mail reaches the processing center, inmates can usually read it within 24–72 hours.
