Kerr County Jail posts visitation phone numbers and basic hours on its website if you need to schedule a visit or have questions. You're limited to one 1-hour visit (or two 30-minute visits) per week, and appointments can only be made Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday during the jail's scheduling windows. Male inmates receive in-person visits Friday and Saturday from 10:00am to 4:00pm. Female inmates receive visits Sunday from 10:00am to 4:00pm. Children may visit on those same days. Bring a valid state driver's license or state identification card. Anyone under 17 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian. Visits can be denied or ended for improper conduct, signs of alcohol or drug use, improper dress, or suspected contraband. The jail may also restrict visitation for security or health reasons.

Send mail to Kerr County Jail's specific PO Box, and always include your full return address on every envelope. The Kerr County Sheriff's Office reiterated this requirement in a March 2025 blog post on the county site. Include the inmate's full name and booking/ID number, and keep the envelope clearly formatted to help mail get processed smoothly. Certain items won't be accepted by mail or delivery: loose envelopes and stamps, pens and paper, books (unless from an approved distributor), magazines, Polaroid pictures, cash, and clothing. Legal or privileged mail may follow different intake and inspection procedures—confirm the legal-mail rules before sending attorney correspondence.

You can fund an inmate's commissary account at Kerr County Jail by mailing a money order to the Kerr County Inmate Commissary at the Clearwater Paseo address, depositing online through JAILATM.COM, or using the ATM at the jail's visitation entrance. A 24-hour front-lobby ATM deposits funds directly to inmate accounts. Note: the front lobby no longer accepts money orders. Commissary runs weekly—inmates place orders on Tuesdays and receive items on Thursdays. Each inmate can purchase commissary once per week. If you're mailing a money order, it must arrive by 12:00 noon on Monday to be included in that Tuesday's order. Expect ATM fees: $3.25 for cash deposits and a 10% fee on credit/debit deposits. The Sheriff's Office doesn't set or profit from these fees. Account balances are released only to the inmate.
