How to Send Money to Facility

Kerr County Jail has changed how it handles deposits at the front desk. Money orders are no longer accepted in the front lobby for Inmate Trust Fund deposits. Instead, there's a 24-hour kiosk (sometimes called a jail ATM) in the front lobby where you can deposit funds directly into an inmate's account.

The rules are different if you want to send funds through the mail or by delivery. Cash is not allowed by mail or delivery. Money orders sent by mail or delivery will be deposited into the inmate's funds, but verify the current mailing instructions before you rely on that option.

Warning: Do not send cash by mail or delivery. It is not allowed and can be rejected or not returned.

How to Send Money to Facility

Steps to Follow

  • Use the 24-hour kiosk in the front lobby to deposit funds directly into the inmate’s account.
  • Do not try to leave a money order at the front lobby. Kerr County Jail no longer accepts money orders there for Inmate Trust Fund deposits.
  • If you send funds by mail or delivery, do not send cash. If you send a money order, it will be deposited into the inmate’s funds.

Before you head to the lobby, confirm what you'll need to use the kiosk and what forms of payment it accepts. The kiosk is available 24 hours a day, but details like accepted payment types, deposit limits, and fees can still trip you up if you don't check first.

If you're mailing a money order, verify the current process with the jail so your deposit doesn't get delayed. Kerr County Jail does not accept money orders in the front lobby, but money orders sent by mail or delivery are processed into the inmate's funds. Ask what recipient details they require on the money order and confirm the correct mailing address before you send it.

Reminder: Cash is not permitted by mail or delivery. If you're unsure what to use instead, call the jail to ask what options are currently accepted so your deposit doesn't get rejected.
