You can send a money order by mail. Include the inmate's name so the funds get credited to the right account.

Prefer to skip the mail? Deposit funds online through JAILATM.COM. It's faster than waiting for a money order to arrive.

The jail has a 24-hour ATM in the front lobby that deposits directly into an inmate's account. One catch: the lobby no longer accepts money orders for Inmate Trust Fund deposits. Use the mail option or go with the ATM or online methods instead.

Mail your money order to: Kerr County Inmate Commissary, Inmate Name, 400 Clearwater Paseo, Kerrville, Texas 78028. The inmate's name is part of the address format - don't leave it off.

The front-lobby ATM lets you deposit directly into an inmate's account any time of day. It accepts both cash and credit/debit cards.

  • Cash deposits at the jail ATM: $3.25 fee
  • Credit/debit deposits at the jail ATM: 10% charge
  • The Sheriff’s Office says it does not set these fees and does not profit from them

Commissary runs on a weekly cycle. Inmates place orders on Tuesdays and receive items on Thursdays. If you want your deposit to count for that week's order, plan around Tuesday.

Deadline: Money orders must be received by 12:00 noon on Monday to be included in Tuesday’s commissary order.

No funds available? Kerr County Jail provides indigent inmates with basic supplies each week - personal hygiene items plus writing materials like paper, a pen, envelopes, and stamps.

One thing to know: account balances are only shared with the inmate, not family members. The jail also doesn't accept outside packages, so approved deposits through commissary are the way to help.
