Phone Blocks, PrePay, Deposits, and Refunds — How to Handle Money and Calls for Kershaw Inmates
Phone and money systems get confusing fast—especially when a call won't connect or a deposit seems stuck in limbo. Here's how to deal with blocks, set up PrePay, understand deposit timing, and request refunds.
If your phone number is blocked from receiving inmate calls - or you want it blocked - call 1-866-230-7761. That's the fastest way to get the issue resolved without bouncing between offices.
Collect calls not working? A PrePay account might be the answer. You set it up through the inmate phone service provider, and it can also get you discounted rates. Call 1-800-483-8314 to get started.

Commissary and trust fund deposits made through automated options - website, mobile app, toll-free phone, or kiosk - are transmitted to the facility within one business day, according to ConnectNetwork. If you need funds to arrive quickly, automated methods are the way to go.
Mailing a deposit? ConnectNetwork processes mailed deposits the next business day after they receive them. The catch: that's after receipt, not after you drop it in the mailbox. Factor in delivery time before you start counting business days.
Note: ConnectNetwork states all Trust Fund deposits are final, and no refunds are issued for Trust Fund deposits.
If you’re submitting a GTL refund request by mail, use the address printed on the SCDC refund card: South Carolina Department of Corrections, 4444 Broad River Road, Columbia, SC 29210.
Submitted a refund request and still waiting after 30 days? Call 1-866-640-5445. Phone support is available Monday through Friday, 6am–8pm Eastern.
