How to Register for Visits at Kershaw (Effective June 1, 2025)

As of June 1, 2025, adults 18 and older with a valid South Carolina driver's license can register for visitation online - including visits at Kershaw. If you have that ID, online registration is your fastest option. Don't have a SC license? You'll need to use the paper process.

Minor children must still go through the paper visitation application. The packet needs to include documentation verifying the child's relationship to the incarcerated person - the agency uses these documents to confirm eligibility.

Some adults also need to use the paper application. This includes anyone without an ID or driver's license, anyone with an out-of-state license, and anyone who doesn't have computer access or runs into technical issues. If that's you, paper is the way to go.

Mail paper applications to: Division of Visitation and I/M DT, P.O. Box 212969, Columbia, S.C., 29221-2969. Double-check that you've included all required documentation before sending - especially for minor children, where relationship verification documents are required.
