How to Schedule (and Cancel) an In-Person Visit at Kershaw Using the GTL Scheduler

At Kershaw (and other SCDC facilities), in-person visits must be scheduled through the GTL scheduler at least 15 hours in advance. You can't decide the morning of and expect to get in. Booking early gives you a better shot at the time slot you want - and helps avoid last-minute hiccups with processing and confirmation.

Before you can schedule anything, you’ll need to register on the SCDC/GTL scheduling website. Once your account is set up, you’ll use that same scheduler to pick an available time and lock in the visit.

Each person who plans to visit needs their own GTL account, even if you're all going together. One person's login doesn't cover everyone in the group - separate accounts prevent delays when it's time to schedule.

• ✓ Register on the SCDC/GTL scheduling website so you can access the scheduler.
• ✓ Confirm you’re allowed to visit (you generally need to be on the person’s approved visitation list before scheduling).
• ✓ Schedule the in-person visit through the GTL scheduler at least 15 hours ahead of the time you want.
• ✓ Keep your group within the limit: up to four visitors total, and at least one visitor must be an adult.

Keep the visit limits in mind as you pick dates. General population inmates with visitation privileges can have up to four in-person visits per month, including one visit per weekend. If you schedule a weekend visit, plan around that limit so you don't accidentally block out another visit you were hoping to make later.

Can't make a scheduled visit? Cancel at least 48 hours ahead. If you miss that window and no-show, the visit still counts toward the inmate's monthly total - taking away one of their limited slots for the month.
