Visiting KMCI with a pacemaker or medical implant: DOC-2424 and metal-detector rules
Have a pacemaker or medical implant? Plan ahead before visiting KMCI. You'll need to get form DOC-2424 to the Security Director early so your approval is ready at the Gatehouse when you arrive.
If you have a pacemaker or other medical implant that will affect the metal detector, KMCI requires medical verification on form DOC-2424 (Visitors Requesting Accommodation). The form has to be completed by a physician and then mailed or faxed to the KMCI Security Director so the institution can review it before you arrive.
Don't wait until the last minute. KMCI needs your DOC-2424 at least one week before your first visit - that gives them time to process the approval and have it ready at the Gatehouse. Show up without it on file, and you won't get in.
- ✓ Have your physician fax the completed DOC-2424 verification to KMCI at 920-526-9320.
Every visitor at KMCI must pass through the metal detector. The only exceptions are Department of Corrections employees and Law Enforcement Officers.
You get three tries to clear the metal detector. Fail all three, and you're turned away - no visit that day. This is exactly why getting your DOC-2424 approved ahead of time matters so much.
Questions about the DOC-2424 form? Want to confirm your approval is on file before making the trip? Call the KMCI Security Supervisor's Office at (920) 526-3244.
Fax option: DOC-2424 verification can be faxed to KMCI at 920-526-9320 for the Security Director.
