The Monthly Checking Account Debit (ACH) option runs on a set monthly schedule. The debit from your checking account happens on or around the 5th of each month, and the funds are credited to the offender’s account on or around the 10th.

  1. Complete an ACH authorization form - Fill it out with the offender and deposit details.
  2. Attach a voided check - Use a voided check from the checking account that will be debited.
  3. Mail both documents - Send the completed form and voided check to Inmate Trust Fund, PO Box 629, Huntsville, TX 77342-0629.

If you want to handle things online, eCommDirect is the program used for TDCJ commissary package purchases. In fact, eCommDirect is the only acceptable package program for TDCJ inmates, so if you’re comparing options, that’s the name you’ll be looking for.

  • The fee to make a deposit is $2.50 plus 2.25% of the deposit.
  • The fee to make a purchase is $3.75.
  • If you make a deposit and a purchase at the same time, the fee is $3.75 plus 2.25% of the deposit.

Warning: Effective September 1, 2020, only senders on the approved visitor list or the inmate’s Telephone List are allowed to deposit money to inmates.

Don’t send cash or a personal check for a trust fund deposit. Cash and personal checks are not accepted, and they will be returned to the sender.

Keep timing in mind if you’re sending a larger amount. Single transaction deposits of $500 or more are held for 14 days before the inmate can access the funds. The same 14-day hold applies to certain check types, including insurance, company, payroll, and estate checks (and similar disbursements).

If you need to follow up on a deposit, the Trust Fund office can confirm whether a deposit was received. They cannot release information about the inmate’s account activity or balance to anyone except the inmate.
