How to Pay a Traffic Ticket in LaGrange County: Mail, Phone, Online, and In‑Person Options

LaGrange County gives you several ways to pay your traffic citation. Pay by phone through PayGov, pay online through the State of Indiana Online Court Payment System, or pay in person at the LaGrange County Clerk's Office. Heads up: the Clerk's Office only accepts cash for in-person payments. Prefer to mail it in? There are specific rules about what to send - I'll cover those next.

Mail

• ✓ Send a money order for the amount listed on the charge.
• ✓ Include a ticket copy, or write the ticket number on the money order.
• ✓ If you want a receipt mailed back to you, include a self-addressed stamped envelope.

Mail traffic payments to: LaGrange County Traffic Violation, 105 N. Detroit Street, LaGrange, IN 46761.

To pay by phone, LaGrange County directs you to PayGov. Call 1-866-480-8552 - it’s available 24 hours a day.

For online payments, use the State of Indiana Online Court Payment System. It's a good option if you'd rather skip the mail and avoid a trip to the courthouse.

In-person payments are handled through the LaGrange County Clerk’s Office at 105 N. Detroit Street, LaGrange, IN 46761.

Timing matters. LaGrange County warns that if you don’t pay the judgment and costs within 30 days, a Failure to Appear to Pay notice will be sent to the BMV, and your driver’s license will be suspended until payment is made.

1. Decide before the appearance date - you should either pay or deny the citation before the appearance date printed at the bottom of the ticket.
2. Send a written denial to the court - LaGrange County instructs that you must send your denial in writing; after that, the court will set a trial date.
3. Show up for the trial date - if you deny the ticket but fail to appear at trial, a default judgment will be entered and it will result in license suspension.
