What You Can (and Can't) Bring to a Visit at Lake C.I.: A Clear Checklist
Packing for a prison visit is stressful—the rules are strict, and the line moves fast. Use this checklist to bring only what Lake C.I. allows so you can clear security without getting turned away.
Each visitor can bring up to $50 in cash for the vending machines in the visiting area. That money is for snacks and drinks during your visit - plan to spend it there, not carry extra out.
- ✓ Bring only $1 bills
- ✓ Bring only $5 bills
- ✓ Bring only $10 bills
- ✓ Bring only $20 bills
Warning: Under no circumstances can you give money to an inmate. The cash you bring is for vending purchases in the visiting area only.
If you take prescription medication, bring only the dosage you'll need during the visit. Don't pack extra
Warning: Do not bring needles or syringes into the facility or leave them anywhere on facility grounds - under any circumstances.
Baby Toddler Items
- ✓ No more than five (5) diapers
- ✓ Up to three (3) clear baby bottles
- ✓ Up to two (2) toddler sipper cups
- ✓ Up to three (3) clear plastic jars of sealed (unopened) baby food
You can bring one vehicle key into the visiting area. If you usually carry a full key ring, leave the rest behind - walk in with just the single key you need.
Note: Keyless entry devices aren't allowed unless the duty warden (or designee) visually inspects it and confirms it's your only way to access your vehicle and not a security concern.
Plan ahead: Staff won't hold or store items for visitors - no exceptions. Bring only what you're allowed to carry in.
