How to Schedule and Check In for a Visit at Lancaster County Prison

You must call the day before you want to visit - walk-ins aren't allowed. Don't show up hoping for an opening; you won't get one.

Once you've secured a time slot, arrive 15 minutes early. Check-in takes a few minutes, and cutting it close puts your visit at risk.

2. If you don’t clear the metal detector, use your two attempts wisely - remove anything that could be setting it off and try again; after two opportunities, expect the visit to be denied because there are no exceptions.
3. If you forgot your ID (or the address doesn’t match), don’t expect an override - a current government-issued photo ID is required, and the address must match the inmate’s visitation list, so you’ll likely need to come back with the correct ID information in place.
