How to Schedule a Visit at Lancaster County Prison (no walk-ins)
Visiting someone at Lancaster County Prison takes a little planning. You can't just show up and ask to be let in. Here's how scheduling works, what time blocks are available, and what to expect when you arrive.
You must call the day before you want to visit to reserve a time slot. Walk-ins are not allowed. Show up without a reservation, and you'll be turned away at the door.
Time Blocks
- ✓ 8:00 to 9:00 AM
- ✓ 9:00 to 10:00 AM
- ✓ 1:00 to 2:00 PM
- ✓ 2:00 to 3:00 PM
- ✓ 6:30 to 7:30 PM
- ✓ 7:30 to 8:30 PM
Arrive 15 minutes before your scheduled time. That buffer gives you room to check in and helps you avoid losing your spot if the line moves slowly or staff are processing several visitors at once.
Bring a current, government-issued photo ID. The address on it must match the address listed for you on the inmate's visitation list. If you recently moved or your ID is out of date, get that sorted before you try to visit.
Once you arrive, you'll line up outside at the ramp entrance and enter one at a time. In bad weather, staff may adjust this process, so follow their direction.
Unauthorized personal items (purses, backpacks, cell phones) can be stored in lobby lockers for $0.50. Bring quarters, since the lockers only take coins.
If you were previously incarcerated, Lancaster County Prison requires you to be at least 6 months removed before you can visit. Make sure you meet that time requirement before trying to schedule a slot.
Note: We couldn't locate the direct phone number for scheduling. Check Lancaster County Prison's official website for the current scheduling number, or call the main facility line and ask to be transferred to visitation scheduling.
