What You Need to Know Before Your First Video Visit at LaPorte County Jail

Each video visit at LaPorte County Jail lasts 20 minutes. Be ready to start on time and keep the conversation focused. Good news: inmates get one free on-site video visit per week, which helps if you're trying to stay connected without extra costs.

You'll schedule both on-site and at-home video visits through Securus Technologies. First-timers should build in extra time to set up an account. Double-check that you're selecting the right visit type (on-site vs. at-home) before you confirm.

• ✓ If you prefer to schedule in person, you can schedule a visit at one of eight on-site kiosks at the La Porte County Sheriff’s Office.

All video visits must be scheduled at least 24 hours in advance - same-day visits aren't an option. If you're juggling work, childcare, or a packed schedule, pick a time you can reliably make and book it early. Don't wait until the last minute.

Attire Behavior
