Visitation at Larch Corrections

How to visit, scheduling, dress code, and visitor requirements

Overview

Start by submitting a single visitor application, then wait for approval. Applications are processed in the order received and can take up to 45 business days. Don't submit duplicates. A second application voids the first and restarts the timeline. You must be approved and added to the incarcerated person's Approved Visitor List, and you can only be on one person's list (which stays active even after transfers). In-person visits are first come, first served. The visit room can fill up, so there's a real chance you could be turned away. Everyone entering for a visit is subject to search under DOC safety policy. Minors need a notarized DOC 20-441 consent form attached to their online application and must be accompanied the entire time. EFV and LTAP have separate applications and requirements.

Common Questions

How long does the visitor application take at Larch Corrections?

Applications are processed in the order received and can take up to 45 business days. Submit only one. A duplicate voids the prior application and restarts processing from scratch.

Can I bring a child to visit at Larch Corrections?

Yes, but minors must be accompanied for the entire visit by a non-incarcerated parent or legal guardian, or a designated escort. You also need a notarized DOC 20-441 Parental/Guardian Consent form attached to the minor’s online visitor application.

What are the rules for Extended Family Visits (EFV) at Larch Corrections?

EFV applications can only be submitted once per year and often take more than 12 weeks to process. You'll need to use form DOC 21-415 and have at least six visits in the past 12 months, including one in-person visit. Food must be transparent or semi-transparent, prepackaged, and factory- or store-sealed. You can bring one suitcase, backpack, or duffel that fits through the X-ray scanner.

Who qualifies for Lodging and Transportation Assistance (LTAP) for visits to Larch?

You qualify if you travel more than 150 miles one way, are at least 18, have photo ID matching your address, and are on the approved visit list. If approved, you can request up to two $50 reimbursements per month (max $100). Submit your receipts to DOCHQLAP@doc.wa.gov after the visit.
