Lawrence County Jail Commissary: When to Order, When It Arrives, and How to Cancel
Commissary timing at Lawrence County Jail is predictable once you know the weekly cutoffs. Here’s the exact order window, when deliveries happen, and what to do if you need to cancel or fix a problem.
During a normal week, commissary ordering at Lawrence County Jail is open starting at 12:00am Tuesday and stays open through lights out on Wednesday. If you’re trying to plan deposits or make sure you don’t miss the cutoff, that Tuesday-to-Wednesday window is the one to work within.
Orders are delivered on Friday. If the schedule changes for a holiday week, the jail will give advance notice of any delivery-day changes.
If you need to cancel a commissary order, the jail uses a very specific process. You must submit a request to “Cancel Commissary Order” no later than 6:00pm Wednesday. Use only “Cancel Order” as the subject line, and don’t write anything in the comments area - no explanations, no extra notes.
Warning: If you submit more than one “Cancel Order” request between when ordering opens Tuesday and the 6:00pm Wednesday deadline, you forfeit the privilege to have that order cancelled that weekend.
Once an order is submitted, commissary does not make changes to existing orders. That means the safest approach is to slow down and double-check your cart before you hit submit - quantities, sizes, and all items - because you won’t be able to edit it afterward.
- Act during the order window - If something goes wrong while ordering on Tuesday or Wednesday, don’t wait and hope it fixes itself.
- Submit a Request to “Commissary – Melissa” - This is the channel the jail directs you to use for ordering problems.
- Meet the deadline - Your Request must be submitted before 6:00pm Wednesday to be addressed.
If you change your mind at delivery, you can refuse up to two line items and receive a refund. That’s the limit for refusing items without additional consequences. If you send back more than two items - or refuse the entire order - you’ll receive credit instead. The tradeoff is that your commissary ordering privileges are suspended for the next two weeks, so think carefully before returning a larger portion of the order.
Refund timing: If items are sent back (or the entire order returns) because the customer was released before delivery, refunds are processed within two business days.
