How to Send Personal Mail to Someone at Lea County Correctional Facility (Securus Digital Mail Center)
When your loved one's facility routes personal mail through the Securus Digital Mail Center, getting the address format exactly right is what keeps your letter from getting delayed or bounced back.
Personal mail only gets accepted when it's addressed to the Securus Digital Mail Center with the incarcerated person's full name and inmate ID number. You also need your return name and address on the envelope. Miss any of these details, and your mail will likely come back to you - or sit in limbo while staff try to figure out who it belongs to. This rule feels nitpicky until your letter gets stuck. Taking an extra minute to format everything correctly is the fastest way to make sure your message actually gets through.
Effective date: The Securus Digital Mail Center addressing requirement is listed as effective July 15, 2020.

- Choose USPS or a delivery company - Use either the U.S. Postal Service or a delivery company to send the item.
- Write the address exactly as required - Include the inmate’s full name and inmate ID, and address it to the Securus Digital Mail Center.
- Add your return name and return address - Put this on the outside of the envelope/package.
- Mail it with the correct postage or shipping label - Make sure it’s paid and ready for delivery before you drop it off.
Sending a money order? Don't include a letter or any other correspondence in the same envelope. Money orders go by themselves. Write the inmate's name clearly on the money order itself. If staff can't read the name, the money order may be rejected because they can't match it to the right person.
Warning: Don’t enclose letters with a money order, and write the inmate’s name clearly on the money order.
