How to Add or Change Names on an Inmate’s Visitors List at Leblanc Unit (and Appeal Removals)

At Leblanc Unit, an inmate's approved Visitors List can include up to 10 people. The list includes identifying contact information for each person - phone numbers, physical addresses - that the inmate wants approved for visits during authorized hours.

For institutional inmates, names can only be added or removed from the Visitors List once every six months. Plan ahead before submitting a change, especially if the list is already near the 10-name limit.

For inmates in a state jail, Intermediate Sanction Facility (ISF), or Substance Abuse Felony Punishment (SAFP) setting, the window is shorter: list updates are allowed once every 60 days. Still limited, but on a faster cycle than the six-month schedule.

Been removed from an inmate's Visitors List? You can submit a written appeal to the Director's Review Committee (DRC). This is the formal way to request a review of the removal decision. It's time-sensitive, so start preparing your appeal right away.
